ADAM, a robot developed with <a  href=\"https:\/\/developer.nvidia.com\/isaac\">NVIDIA Isaac libraries<\/a>, is pouring drinks and turning heads in one of the NHL\u2019s most exciting venues.<\/p>\n<p>ADAM, short for Automated Dual Arm Mixologist, was developed by Las-Vegas based Richtech Robotics. It\u2019s not just a novelty \u2014 it\u2019s a solution to real-world challenges in hospitality: labor shortages and demands for unique customer experiences.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe hospitality industry faces significant labor challenges, and ADAM is our answer to meeting those needs while elevating the customer experience,&#8221; said Matt Casella, president of Richtech Robotics. &#8220;With NVIDIA&#8217;s Isaac platform, we&#8217;ve developed a solution that&#8217;s scalable, consistent, and frankly, creates memorable moments for fans. The response at T-Mobile Arena has been phenomenal\u2014people love interacting with ADAM.\u201d<\/p>\n<p><iframe title=\"ADAM Serves Cocktails at Vegas Golden Knights Game | Hype Reel\" width=\"500\" height=\"281\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/3LE5uw9a-_c?feature=oembed\" frameborder=\"0\" allow=\"accelerometer; autoplay; clipboard-write; encrypted-media; gyroscope; picture-in-picture; web-share\" referrerpolicy=\"strict-origin-when-cross-origin\" allowfullscreen><\/iframe><\/p>\n<h2><b>Learning to Serve Drinks in Simulation<\/b><\/h2>\n<p>Before ADAM ever poured a drink, it trained in a virtual bar. Richtech used <a  href=\"https:\/\/developer.nvidia.com\/isaac\/sim\">NVIDIA Isaac Sim<\/a>, an open-source, reference robotic simulation framework built on <a  href=\"https:\/\/www.nvidia.com\/en-us\/omniverse\/\">NVIDIA Omniverse<\/a>, to build a high-fidelity and physically accurate simulation of ADAM\u2019s workstation, complete with cups, utensils and lighting variations. The team generated <a  href=\"https:\/\/www.nvidia.com\/en-us\/glossary\/synthetic-data-generation\/\">synthetic data<\/a> to teach ADAM how to recognize objects even in tricky conditions like glare or reflection.<\/p>\n<p><iframe title=\"ADAM Cocktail Training in NVIDIA Isaac Sim\" width=\"500\" height=\"281\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/mAHDdfoLW1w?feature=oembed\" frameborder=\"0\" allow=\"accelerometer; autoplay; clipboard-write; encrypted-media; gyroscope; picture-in-picture; web-share\" referrerpolicy=\"strict-origin-when-cross-origin\" allowfullscreen><\/iframe><\/p>\n<p>ADAM\u2019s skills such as pouring and shaking were refined in simulation using <a  href=\"https:\/\/developer.nvidia.com\/isaac\/lab\">Isaac Lab<\/a>, NVIDIA\u2019s open source robot learning framework. The result: a robot that doesn\u2019t just follow instructions \u2014 it adapts to its environment with precision.<\/p>\n<h2><b>Running Real-Time AI at the Edge With Jetson<\/b><\/h2>\n<p>ADAM runs on <a  href=\"https:\/\/www.nvidia.com\/en-us\/autonomous-machines\/embedded-systems\/jetson-orin\/\">NVIDIA Jetson AGX Orin<\/a>, the powerful edge AI platform capable of 275 TOPS of compute. Using <a  href=\"https:\/\/developer.nvidia.com\/isaac\/ros\">Isaac ROS 2<\/a> libraries, ADAM captures camera feeds, detects objects and calibrates the workspace in real time. ADAM\u2019s perception stack \u2014 built with <a  href=\"https:\/\/developer.nvidia.com\/tao-toolkit\">TAO Toolkit<\/a> and optimized with <a  href=\"https:\/\/developer.nvidia.com\/tensorrt\">TensorRT<\/a> \u2014 enables it to identify cups, measure liquid levels and adjust movements with less than 40 milliseconds of latency.<\/p>\n<p>That means ADAM can spot a misplaced cup, detect when foam reaches the rim and correct a pour \u2014 all without missing a beat.<\/p>\n<h2><b>Creating Industrial Dexterity With NVIDIA Thor<\/b><\/h2>\n<p>While ADAM is busy serving drinks at Golden Knights games, Richtech Robotics is also making major strides in industrial automation with Dex, a new mobile <a  href=\"https:\/\/www.nvidia.com\/en-us\/glossary\/humanoid-robot\/\">humanoid robot<\/a> built for factory and warehouse environments.<\/p>\n<p>Recently unveiled at <a  href=\"https:\/\/www.nvidia.com\/gtc\/dc\/\">GTC DC<\/a>, Dex combines the mobility of an autonomous wheeled platform with the precision of dual-arm dexterity. It\u2019s designed to handle such light-to-medium industrial tasks as machine operation, parts sorting, material handling and packaging \u2014 all with the flexibility to\u00a0 take on different tools and workflows.<\/p>\n<p>Dex runs on <a  href=\"https:\/\/www.nvidia.com\/en-us\/autonomous-machines\/embedded-systems\/jetson-thor\/\">NVIDIA Jetson Thor<\/a>, a next-generation robotics processor that gives it the ability to deliver real-time sensor processing and AI reason in dynamic industrial settings.<\/p>\n<p>Dex was trained from a blend of real world and synthetic data generated from Isaac Sim.
