Intel and Serena Williams Want You to Upgrade Your Game

Intel has partnered with tennis champion Serena Williams on a new ad for its 7th Generation Intel® Core™ processor-powered 2 in 1s. The new “Upgrade Your Game” campaign kicks off with the “Wooden Rackets” ad, which reveals a frustrated Williams on the tennis court trying to compete with an old racket. Williams stars alongside Jim Parsons to showcase how the best equipment, powered by the 7th Generation Intel Core processor, provides the performance needed to stay on top of your game. The ad featuring Williams aims to reach the 400 million people with a 5-year-old computer and demonstrate the dramatic difference in performance found on a new computer.

“This new ad with Serena Williams connects high performance with Intel and brings to life our company’s brand promise to make amazing experiences possible,” said Steve Fund, Intel’s senior vice president and chief marketing officer. “The idea is that whether in business or on the court, you can’t perform at your best using old, outdated equipment.”

“I’m excited to work with Intel to show everyone why it’s important to upgrade their game,” Williams said. “Performance matters and outdated equipment, whether that’s a wooden racket on the court or an old computer at home, should never get in the way of what you want to do.”

The new commercial will begin airing April 30, along with corresponding social, online and retail assets.

Microsoft Unveils New Surface Studio and Surface Book i7 – Powered by Intel Core

Today Microsoft unveiled some exciting additions to the Surface product line which take advantage of the power and performance enabled by Intel® Core™ processor technology, as well as a peek at updates coming to Windows 10 next spring that we think will open up even more amazing experiences for Intel Core powered PCs.

The new, much anticipated Surface Studio is a beautiful new take on the All-in-One concept with the creative and designer community in mind. The first thing people will notice of course is the 28-inch 4.5K ultra HD display that is a mere 12.5mm thin. Intel worked closely with Microsoft to optimize quad-core Intel Core processors to deliver the incredible performance to run professional programs the creative community needs. Thanks to the collaboration to fit the processing power into the sleek base of the Surface Studio, it enabled an incredibly thin and vibrant screen that can easily transition from a workstation to a digital canvas.

Microsoft also announced an update to the popular Surface Book, dubbed the Surface Book i7, which continues to take advantage of an Intel Core i7 processor to pack top line performance into an already amazing package.

Intel is proud to have worked so closely with Microsoft to bring these Surface devices to life and to help ensure Windows 10 is the best possible compute experience available now and in the future.
